Researching Neotropical flora and fauna at Sierra Llorona
continues to be of particular interest to scientists, leading
to the recent discovery of a new species of amphibian, endemic
to the area Atelopus limosus. Also mammals, birds, butterflies
and insects are to be found. We just finished extending our
walking trails La Poza and El Colibri to four kilometers ( 2.5
miles ) trough the rain forest, improving steps and handrails
with natural logs, including observation and resting stations
with native "bohios" and "mirador", all of this plus a hammock
to nap, will make your visit a very comfortable and a
different experience. El Manakin trail called like this in
behalf of the Red-capped and Blue-crowned Manakin found in the
area, offers a great view of the forest.
